The road to grammar school — Year 6 (2027 entry)
Your child is in Year 6, so this is the busy autumn. The test has been sat, results arrive in mid-October, applications close on 31 October, and school places are offered on 1 March 2027. The daily journey is the part families often leave too late — sort it while everyone else is waiting.

Key dates for Year 6 families
- Mid-October 2026 — 11+ results arrive. A qualifying score is not a school offer.
- By 31 October 2026 — Apply for your schools through your home council's form.
- 1 March 2027 — Offers day. Tell us the school offered and we talk seats.
Dates change each year, so always check the individual school's own admissions policy before relying on them.
Why plan the journey now
List the schools. Plan the route. Between results and offers day you will be comparing schools, and the ordinary Monday morning is part of that decision. Families who register interest now are the ones who already have a stop and a route when places are confirmed.
You can register for every school on your list — all seven if you like — while you decide. It is free, it commits you to nothing, and no payment is due until school places are confirmed on 1 March.

Tell us your school, start year and postcode, then request or vote for your stop. Families from Swindon and nearby towns and villages are welcome. A free interest registration does not reserve a coach place, and under our normal terms nothing is paid until school places are confirmed in March.
